SCREENPRINTING Each print is made using the screen printing process. I mix high quality ink for every colour, this ink is then pushed, by hand, through a screen. Each print is built up colour by colour, layer by layer. To ensure that every colour is bold and clean, I leave gaps in each layer so that the ink for the following layers is printed directly onto the paper, this means that every layer has to be carefully aligned and printed in seconds to ensure that the ink doesn’t dry in the screen. The process of burning the stencil onto the screens, washing out, drying, printing, washing out the ink, and then chemically cleaning each screen takes several hours to produce a single printed layer, multiple layer prints represent several days worth of work .
This results in high quality, hand made prints that, unlike machine reproductions and digital printing, will not quickly fade .
LIMITED EDITION Each print is signed and numbered as part of a limited edition. Once I clean the screen for each layer of a limited edition I will never use that design again. Buying a print from a limited edition means that you will own one of only a small number of those prints to exist. All prints are limited edition unless otherwise stated in the print description .
